I am an artist, designer, mother and friend.

For me, spending time after school, helping my father the sign painter with his work; watching as he filled massive letters in with paint, showed me what I wanted to do with my life. In kindergarten, I reassembled a flattened cardboard block back together and I knew what I was good at. Art became my positive motivator.

My style is inspired by fonts and silhouettes, art nouveau and what I observed in friends that, also, wrote on walls. In their sketchbooks, I learned the importance of simplicity and the story a clean, well-drawn line could tell. Then, I got my own sketchbooks.

I spent most weekdays with my family in Detroit, Michigan, where I was born. The weekends were spent in the care of my grandparents; a seamstress, a baker and a carburetor maker, who nurtured creativity, my curiosities and inspired me with their god-given talents, independence and do it yourself spirit.

When I draw, I feel better, I design better, I parent better. I am very grateful to earn my living working from home, in my way, as a creative problem solver.
